Sleeping Beauty knew what she was doing! Waking up after 100 year’s looking all flawless. With a New Year ahead, I wanted to share with you some of my simple & easy overnight beauty tips that will ensure a very good morning kiss…

Night time is when your body and its cells repair themselves. While you are in dreamland, your body is busy beautifying, releasing reparative enzymes , restoring and re building. All the magic happen’s when your away in dreamland.  To help your body reach its full prettying potential, read on for some of my favourite overnight tips to help you wake up with glowing skin, pearly white’s, glossy waves and much more…

1)Sleep with the window open

Something my mum has always told me and I do it every night. The fresh air circulate’s the room at night and your skin will love you for it. If there is not enough oxygen in your bedroom it affects blood flow to the skin, causing puffiness.

2) Drink A glass of water before bed

Water is the French women’s secret weapon—for skin and beauty, for health (flushing toxins) and for weight control.

neom-visuel2 One of my favourite Sleep candles is this Neom Organics, Tranquility Candle.

3) Sleep Candles

Light a relaxing sleep candle half an hour before bed. Look for a candle with English lavender oil in it. Lavender increases slow-wave sleep, the very deep slumber where the heart rate slows and muscles relax. The brain is thought to also organize memory, Waking up fresh and ready for a new day.

4) Detox

Take a warm bath just before bed with bath detox salts. This will relax you ready for the perfect nights sleep.  Bath salts naturally calm stress, balance your energy and help your drift into a deep sleep.

5) Glowing Face

Im loving hydrating sleep masks at the moment- For a pampering overnight treatment with some much needed hydration, apply a moisturising sleep face mask so you wake up with soft skin that glows and the perfect base for your make up in the morning.

6) De-puff

If you wake up with puffy, swollen eyes. Add an extra pillow and sleep on your back. This will allow the fluids around your eyes to drain easier and keep the puffiness to a minimum.

7) Create waves the natural way

Ocean Waves – To wake up with glossy waves, simply wash hair at night. Allow your strands to dry ‘au naturel’ until they’re damp, and run some argan oil through it with your fingers. Depending on what kind of waves you like, you can either sleep in plaits or twist your hair into a bed bun. ( Bed Bun – see no.13)

Polished Waves – If you have particularly thick hair that is prone to frizzing and you prefer to smooth it before heading out in the morning. Wash & dry hair as usual then plait your locks – warm some argan oil in the palms of your hands then squeeze your plait to push in the product from bottom to top. Repeat as many time’s as you like depending on the length & thickness of your hair. In the morning you will wake up with smooth, glossy waves the natural way!

8) Anti Age & Smooth Hair

Sleep on a silk Pillowcase. It will reduce the pressure on your skin and help prevent split ends when you move around in the night. Dermatologist’s also recommend sleeping on a natural silk pillowcase to help your skin breathe and stay hydrated while you sleep. A natural anti ageing tip!

9) Whiten teeth

The perfect night time beauty trick. For an easy whitening treatment, try brushing some baking soda to your pearly whites just before you go bed. Leave on for 5 minutes and  rinse thoroughly afterwards.  Only use every so often – the acid in baking soda can wear down your tooth enamel.

10) Toned Skin (Legs & Bum)

It’s best to apply body oils at night while you sleep and your skin cell’s are repairing themselves. This is one trick I swear by.  After the bath when your skin is still a little damp apply pure Argan oil to your hips, bum and legs . You will wake up with baby soft skin that looks toned and smooth  – This really works!

11) Lengthen lashes

Apply some Castor oil to your lashes. This natural oil is rich in super-hydrating omega-6 fatty acids, which help moisturize your lashes and prevent breakage. Using a clean Q tip, gently brush the castor oil through your lashes each night. You should notice healthier lashes in just a few weeks!

12) Repair

Smooth some pure coconut oil into your locks before you snooze to wake up to shiny, soft strands ( Make sure you plan to wash your hair in the morning as coconut oil can make your hair look wet & greasy when dry). Applying it in the evening gives treatment more time to penetrate into your hair cuticles for optimum moisture.

13)Hair Volume trick

THE BED BUN. This is a trick I learnt when I started modelling to give you that undone, casting look.  Before bed flip your head over and twist your locks into a top bun. Secure with a hair elastic but you don’t need to pull your hair all the way through the elastic. The more bits you twist the wavier your hair will be. Sleeping with your hair like this stops flat hair in the morning and split ends in the night. It also prevents the little curly hair’s by your neck if you get hot in the night. You should wake up with swishy hair & lots of volume – lightly brush and go!

Happy Sleeping, Beauties!
