Healthy Eating Seabyelle

Beauty starts in the kitchen – its as simple as eat better, feel better. Take a look at some of Elle’s own healthy eating tips – nothing complicated, totally fuss-free and easily implemented into your own daily routine.

GREEN TEA: Honestly, the more you drink of this heavenly stuff, the better. I suggest even 7-9 cups a day. I love to have a cup or two in the morning instead of coffee. If you like tea with sugar, use a teaspoon of honey instead. Both calorie & caffeine free, green tea is bursting with antioxidants but also boosts your metabolism plus its seriously hydrating, which does wonders for your skin.

FLAXSEEDS
FLAX SEEDS: The great thing about flax seeds is that are so versatile, literally add them to anything you are eating for a protein and fibre burst! I especially like to sprinkle them on top of oatmeal or any variation of salad. Flax seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, super important for overall brain health.

NO CARB PANCAKES: Breakfast can often be a struggle for the best of us. Early morning commutes leave us little time to focus on eating well. A friend of mine recently showed me this recipe. I cannot emphasize how easy and quick these no-carb pancakes are to make, quicker than scrambled eggs. It is literally 2 bananas and 1 egg – cook in a frying pan until golden brown. I like to add some berries and a little bit of butter on top of mine. A carb-free breakfast is not only guilt free but also a good way to ensure you  keep your energy up, a carb-heavy breakfast only makes us feel sluggish and tired by mid-morning.

LEMONS
LEMONS: Simply add lemon to your water – be it a cup of boiling lemon water in the morning or in your bottle of h20 you carry around with you all day. Lemons are an incredible source of Vitamin C which will boost your immune system (goodbye winter colds!) They also have a lot of pectin fibre,  which helps fight hunger cravings plus lemon juice aids digestion.

FRUIT
FRUIT/VEG: It goes without saying that fruit and vegetables are good for you, however, most of us don’t eat enough of them. You will increase your health ten-fold by merely eating more of them! I make a concerted effort by bringing a couple apples/oranges (or whatever fruits are in season) in my handbag as well as some celery/carrot/cucumber sticks. Having these on hand will prevent you from snacking on junk, also if you have them around, you will almost always eat them!
