The perfect shade of Red
I recently shot an AVON campaign which made me a little excited about red lips this summer! Choosing the Perfect Red Lipstick Shade to compliment your skin tone can be really important! Red lips can take a laid back, natural look to polished, siren chic in no time with minimal effort as long as you have nailed the shade!
The most flattering shade of red lipstick for most people is Coral Red, so if all this skin tone blah confuses you, opt for this colour. I have broken down the shades of red into skin tone categories & blended them into one another. So if you are somewhere in the middle it should be easier to find a happy medium between the closest shades. If you have a medium skin tone you are very lucky and suit all these beautiful shades!
The perfect way to apply Red Lips without the Faux pas!
♡ Exfoliate the lips gently with some sugar and water on your finger. This also makes your lips taste sweet if your kissing your beau!
♡ Apply some lip balm and blot
♡ Line your lips
♡ Fill them in with liner and apply two layers of your lipstick (blotting in between with tissue paper)
♡ Put the lipstick tube in your mouth and gently pull it out. This takes all the excess lipstick with it so that it doesn’t end up on your teeth.
Voilà. Pretty without the pitfalls….
