I find winter-dressing a little difficult -what is most challenging for me is staying warm while still looking good. On these bitterly cold days, its always so tempting to leave the house in your baggiest sweater and bulkiest coat – and since I’m pretty sure ‘hobo chic’ is not a look for me, I’ve had to master the most important winter skill: Layering! And what better way to layer than with a cosy warm colour such as this delicious shade of butter yellow? I like to play with how different textures offset a colour – and I absolutely love how the breton stripes and leopard print look set against the brighter components of the outfit. You can shop the look using the links below – hoping this inspires you all to throw on a bright colour tomorrow, just because the skies are dull and grey doesn’t mean our outfits have to be. Plus doesn’t just looking at this yellow make you feel warmer?

It’s a great look. I love the touch of bright, summery yellow.
I think breton stripes look gorgeous on small-framed people – they balance hips and shoulders nicely – but someone with larger shoulders might look better in vertical rather than horizontal stripes.
Overall, this look has a slightly Italian feel (gloves, amazing bag, hat, crazy-but-not-too-much shoes…) which I find very elegant. I love the extra touch – the vanilla-scented lipbalm. It’s so nice to wear lipbalm in winter.
