Essential Shade Style
*
The second most trending topic, after the Royal Baby, has to be this heat-wave. Some love it, some loathe it but either way we have to make the best of it and do it in style and by in style we mean in shades and what better way to start than with these candy stripes shades from Moda Operandi!
These beautiful creations, also known as, ILLESTEVA Stripes Leonard Two are made for me because I just love round Lennon style sunglasses but I don’t have the face to wear them (long, thin!). What makes these so great is their round lens but the wayfarer style side flicks which will suit most face shapes. And let’s not overlook the massively on trend monochrome stripe and red underside which makes them just the right side of colourful. My new favourite thing. . .along with a couple of others below.
Dolce And Gabbanna also took inspiration from candy stripes when designing their new striped sunglasses. Accessorise yourself perfectly with your deck-chair! The wonderful thing about white is it enhances a summer tan and this shade of blue is so Ocean like you can’t help but want to be on a beach.
But if stripes are not your thing you can always revert to the classic tortoise shell but with a twist, Stella McCartney does that twist perfectly with these square shaped glasses. The shape is so modern, almost space age, but the frame is a classic combo which stops the look being too alternative, the perfect, on trend, protection from the sun’s glares.
Or if you prefer something more understated but still perfectly on trend then it is our delight to introduce you to these by Gucci. Perspex is a huge trend right now in shoes, bags and accessories and lends itself beautifully and tastefully to these shades which are also available in pink, green and lemon yellow so plenty of choice for everyone.
With so many options there is not excuse to not protect your peepers from the sun’s rays and look good, which shade is your style?

MBFW ☆ Get Your Swim On…
MBFW ☆ 2014
This week is 2014 Mercedes Benz Swim Week. From 18th – 22nd July its a week of Shows, Parties & Swimwear that takes place in the Raleigh Hotel, South Beach. Sponsored by Ocean Drive .
It was so nice to see all the designers and girls I shoot with ( and Ocean Drive Mag!) in Miami. We managed to catch some shows in between shooting a Swim Campaign & Cover out there.
The suits this year are as always, beautiful! But one show that left me wanting everything was Mara Hoffman. Mara’s prints are always beautifully anthropological and she dares to be different! But her 14 collection was beyond stunning! Vibrant prints, perfect cuts and Southern Asia inspired. Next stop … Borneo 😉

Roberto Cavalli AW13
Every girl loves shoes, and both Elle and I are guilty of having one pair too many, so the feeling we are about to describe will be one that we are sure many of you have experienced. It’s that heart pounding moment when you see a new pair of shoes that you simply must have. It doesn’t matter how practical the shoes are or if, at the back of your mind, you know you might not really wear them that much, they just need to be yours (even just to take out the box and stare at).
This is how we felt when we saw these by Roberto Cavalli for AW2013.
Cavalli has never been known for subtleness and is best known for loud and proud animal prints but this new collection is so wonderfully feminine yet directional. Each shoe looks likes a work of art as the print appears to be done by hand. Cavalli has referenced pottery as his inspiration with the flower pattern deriving from ‘’Capodimont’’ pottery, which has Italian heritage. The colour white dominants on a strong base colour which is a perfect blend of Summer and Autumn as we transition into a new season. The rest of the colour palette itself is taken from the world of porcelain with English pottery making being represented in black, navy, cobalt blue and purple colours. The colours peony and peridot are atypical of Capodiment pottery and are represented in this collection in shades of nude, orange and canary yellow.
These works of art would make such a statement with a cropped black peg leg trouser and we can already picture the boots perfectly tucked into our faithful 7 For All Man Kind skinny jeans. They have a perfectly summery vibe that is so fitting for July but which is certain to cheer up any dark and wintery December. An investment item that updates any wardrobe.
Not that we need any more reasons to make them ours.
Glastonbury 2013 Style
Hi everyone. A very quick introduction from me. I’m Victoria and I will be working with Elle as an editor on her blog. Don’t worry you will still get frequent posts from Elle herself I’m just here to bring you up to the minute fashion trend reports, up and coming product reviews and some insider tips. Each post I write is in collaboration with Elle and is always based on a topic true to her own heart and style. Speaking of which, let’s start with Summer Festivals. . .
It’s the end of Glastonbury 2013 and the cleaners set in to clean up and restore the land to its former glory. The lucky few, with tickets, are now left with a Glastonbury sized hole in their lives but what will always live on, long after daisies are growing again in the fields, is the sweet memories of who wore what. Here is our round up of the best.
Kate Moss is a seasoned festival veteran and knows how to rock effortless festival chic. This year Kate rocked Glastonbury in a brown aviator jacket, skinny black jeans and gorgeous black-heeled boots, full respect for being able to walk around a field in those. While half the Glastonbury population were caked in mud Kate looks effortlessly glamorous yet true to her rock girl heritage.
Sienna Miller returned to her boho roots with a black vest, black shorts and a Technicolor dreamcoat . The oversized hat and wavy hair is reminiscent of Woodstock and is wonderfully romantic and will always be the look Sienna does best.
Millie Macintosh hit fashion headlines as she lost her Glastonburgh V plates (she was there to support her Finance, Professor Green). She took hot-pants, the festival girls staple, but made them her own in leather. Yes, leather, we salute you Millie.
Caroline Flack showed us all why the Brits win the festival style battle in a waxed Barbour jacket and Hunter wellies and if those wellies could talk wouldn’t they have a few stories! Hunters still reined as the festival footwear supreme despite a few rocking a heel.
Finally we can’t conclude without a little nod to couple dressing and who rocked it better than our girl Flo (from Florence and the machine) and her beau. Perfectly coordinated in their prints and John Lennon rounded sunglasses. It’s not like Florence to show her legs and now we see this photo we have to wonder why she doesn’t get those pins out more; epitome of young and in love.
Sigh.
For a few days a year, in a field in Glastonbury, the world seems at peace.
