It may be NYFW  but today is a very special day for dogs & puppies thanks to Super Vet Marc Abraham & his organisation PupAid who are giving dog lovers the opportunity to help raise awareness about the UK’s cruel puppy farming trade by attending the Primrose Hill Dog Show in London.

WHAT IS PUPPY FARMING ?  

Puppy farming is the mass commercial production of puppies purely for profit and without a thought for the welfare or happiness of the pup, breeding bitch or stud dogs.

Breeding dogs and pups are usually kept in horrific dark conditions, totally unsocialized and riddled with both infectious and inbred often incurable diseases. These poorly pups are then sold en masse to pet shops, online or from free newspaper ads and usually die soon after reaching their new home.

If they do make it they usually require thousands of pounds worth of medical, surgical and/or behavioural treatment to fix them causing even more pain, suffering and heartbeak for both pups and families.

In order to stop puppy farming we must simply stop the demand. By raising awareness through events like PUP AID and promoting rescue dog adoption and responsible breeding practices it has to end eventually. Please join me at PUP AID 2012 and help to speed up that process.

Some dog-loving celebs and bands have already confirmed and once again there’ll be trade stands, amazing food, doggy displays and loads of fun for all the family to all raise awareness of this important animal welfare issue.

This Valentines Day,  give a little to dogs & puppies that need your love . My dog Tiger, was given to me as present on Valentines day 4 years ago. He had been an unwanted christmas present for someone and so we adopted him from a charity dog home.

Since then I have been helping other dogs that need rescuing by sponsoring or working with Charities that volunteer to help animals. So, I wanted to share something I do, especially on Valentines day when lots of puppies & gifts are bought. Helping an animal is honestly one of the kindest and special things a person can do.I care so much about them and  by raising awareness we can help these amazing volunteers and charities, to rescue and find new homes for dogs.

All Dogs Matter Charity

A Charity I love is  All Dogs Matter which is a voluntary dog rescue Charity based in London & Norfolk.

They are so passionate about their animals and their aim is to rescue and rehome dogs in and around London/Norfolk /surrounding areas. The dogs are strays or healthy dogs from pounds that would have been put down or simply dogs whose owners no longer want to keep them.

ALL DOGS MATTER pair each dog with a  new owner for it, ensuring that it will be safe, cared for and loved for the rest of its life.

Sponsoring a dog can help the charity to FIND, RESCUE and RE HOME more dogs & contribute towards veterinary treatments such as vaccinations, neutering & microchipping.
